Why should your company have a drug policy? What policies can be legally implemented? Can you still test now that marijuana is legal? Can you forbid the use of prescription opioids in your policies? What can you do when someone tests positive? One-third of all incidents on construction job sites are drug or alcohol related. Companies with substance abuse programs in place dramatically outperform those without a program in terms of safety. We will discuss the three key components of an effective substance abuse program: Testing options, policies and rules regarding drug and alcohol use, and employee assistance programs.
