HELPING YOU GET WORK
ABC ’s business development programs help members win more projects and stay competitive in this difficult economic climate by demonstrating how to showcase their qualifications to prospective customers.

MARKETING & REFERRALS
  • ABC Member Directory: The directory is a valuable business resource, helping you find generals, subs, suppliers and professionals who can assist you in completing your projects. It also helps others find your company when they are bidding jobs and building their project teams.
  • ABC Referral List: ABC offers two types of referrals for our members and non-members, at no cost to you. We can provide lists of members by trade to member companies looking for a specific sub trade, and lists for non-member companies looking for qualified contractors when they are working on a project in our area.
  • Find-A-Contractor: Every ABC member is listed in this searchable online membership directory that can be used to search for a contractor, supplier or industry professional.
  • Public Relations Guide: The Public Relations Guide for Contractors seeks to give you some tips on how to garner publicity for your company.
  • ABC Website: The ABC Website offers links for finding public works, promotes your company through various programs, keeps you abreast of the latest industry news and has a calendar of the events and educational offerings at ABC.

RECOGNITION PROGRAMS
  • ABC Safety Alliance: This safety recognition program can be used as a business development tool to provide third-party verification of your commitment to safety.
  • Safety Training and Evaluation Process: ABC’s STEP program helps contractors establish an organized approach to develop a company’s safety program. In addition to fostering a safer work environment, ABC’s STEP recognition program provides an important business development tool that can be used with clients.
  • ABC Green Contractor: The ABC Green Contractor Certification program recognizes members’ efforts to develop a sustainable workplace environment—both on and off the jobsite.

EVENTS THAT INCREASE YOUR BUSINESS CONTACTS
  • Excellence in Construction Awards Showcase: This program publicly recognizes the quality and innovation of merit shop construction and promotes ABC’s belief that a construction project where the choice of contractor and subcontractor is based on price, ability and performance - without regard to labor affiliation - produces the highest quality and most cost-effective project.
  • Meet the Generals: This annual speed-networking event for general contractors and subcontractors facilitates business development between members sharing company information and bidding requirements.
  • ABC's Young Professionals Group Events: Regular educational, networking and fun events to keep you connected to the up and comers in the industry.
  • Monthly Business Development Events: ABC holds regular events that help you increase your business contacts, provide educational opportunities, or help you relax and have fun with your peers in the industry.
PEER GROUPS
  • The Electrical Contractors Council: This peer group enables electrical contractors to share information, techniques, and employment practices specific to the electrical community.
  • ABC Framers Council: Council meetings allow framers to network and create relationships with other framing contractors who are facing the same issues.
  • ABC Green Council: The ABC Green Council provides a forum for education and networking related to the ever-increasing field of sustainable building.
  • Legislative Action Team: An email-based grassroots group keeps members updated on the latest legislation effecting your business, and how you can get involved.
  • ABC’s Young Professionals Group: ABC’s YPG serves as an entry vehicle for members to get involved in ABC and participate in information sharing and education to further their leadership potential.
