KEEPING WORKERS SAFE

ABC’s safety resources and tools help members evaluate, manage and improve their safety programs, as well as recognize members’ commitment to exceptional safety practices.

SCHEDULED AND ON-DEMAND SAFETY TRAINING

ABC schedules training classes on essential safety topics throughout the year, such as OSHA 10 and 30, fall protection and accident investigation. In addition, ABC provides on-demand safety classes to meet members’ specific needs, at a discounted price, at your location or the ABC training room. APPRENTICESHIP AND CRAFT TRAINING

Apprenticeship and craft training is available through our partner, the Construction Industry Training Council.

ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR SAFETY PROGRAM

Individual Safety Consultations & Jobsite Safety Audits: Free jobsite walk-throughs, plus one-on-one guidance, are offered by a safety professional.
Safety Training and Evaluation Process: ABC’s STEP program helps contractors establish an organized approach for developing a company’s safety and loss-prevention program. In addition to fostering a safer work environment, ABC’s STEP recognition can be used as an important business development tool with clients.
Accident Investigation Kits: This kit includes supplies to investigate any accident and comes with an in-depth resource manual, all in an easy-to-grab ABC duffel bag. Accident Prevention Program on CD: This handy CD contains over 60 sections to help you write your company accident prevention plan to meet your needs and L&I’s requirements.
Video Lending Library: Over a hundred safety topic titles on VHS and/or DVD are available for complimentary two-week rental; some are also offered in Spanish.
Safety publications and access to Weekly Toolbox Talks

ABC SAFETY ALLIANCE

This program gives contractors in the top tiers of the STEP program an opportunity to have their safety program validated by a third-party safety consultant. The program is recognized by the Dept. of Labor & Industries; alliance members may be relieved from L&I routine safety inspections due to their acknowledged commitment to safe work places.

ABC RETROSPECTIVE RATING PROGRAM

ABC Retro Program participants receive full service claims management, safety and claims training, incident response packets, loss control services and safety audits. The program also provides a financial incentive to reduce jobsite accidents and workers comp claims costs by offering refunds on industrial insurance premiums.
Access to Employer Resources Northwest: All ABC Retro members have immediate assistance on claims management, workers’ comp training, incident response packets and safety audits. ERNWest provides ABC Retro members with all the help they need in reducing workplace hazards.
