ABC/WW LOOKS OUT TO 2013 (08/15/2008)
The board of directors, future leaders and staff spent the better part of two days at the 2008 Leadership Planning Conference earlier this summer. The annual retreat is when ABC/WW celebrates what it has accomplished in the past year, does a SWOT analysis and then makes plans for the coming year. In addition, this year, under 2008-09 Chair Grant Larsen’s (Express Construction Co., Inc.) leadership, the group also pushed the long-range strategic plan out to 2013.
ABC/WW is divided into four councils which oversee the services it offers and the business operations of ABC. The Membership, Professional Development, Advocacy and Governance Councils are each working on their five-year strategic plan and one-year operational plan. The board of directors heard each report and compiled the overall ABC of Western Washington plan at its summer meeting.
