In the last few weeks, you should have received ABC of Western Washington’s 2008 Voting Record. This booklet highlights seven bills in the Senate and nine bills in the House of Representatives that each legislator was graded on during the 2008 legislative session in Washington. All of these bills, either passed or failed, may have a big impact on the construction industry in the years to come.
You can use this voting record to help you determine whom to vote for in the fall. Each legislator has a percentage next to their votes that indicates their overall “score” for the year. A score closer to 100% means they have an excellent ABC voting record. The lower the percentage, the worse ABC voting record. In the Senate, 14 legislators scored a perfect 100%. In the House, 24 representatives earned a perfect score. In addition to a percentage, each legislator was assigned a letter grade to better illustrate their position on issues of importance to ABC members.
The 2008 Voting Record also highlights ABC’s team of lobbyists and representatives that fight for your interests in Olympia, along with summaries of all the bills that legislators are being graded on. If you would like extra copies of the voting record, please contact Aran Buchan at (425) 646-8000.
