EXPRESS COMPLETES SUNSET STATION APARTMENTS (08/18/2008)
Express Construction Co., Inc. has completed the Sunset Station Apartments, a 55-unit, family-oriented complex located in Seatac. Designed by Ron Hovde Architects, LLC, the complex features studio, one- two- and threebedroom units in four stories over a secured parking structure. The complex features its own Internet café, an outdoor play area with closed circuit television monitors in each unit and a complete exercise facility.
The exterior post tensioned deck area is planted as a rain garden directing water into a 15,000 gallon storm water retention tank below. The wood frame structure has artistic roof line arches with large windows open to views of the airport, Mount Rainier and sunsets to the west. “It’s a highly successful project and leasing activity is strong,” said Eric Wagner of Sunset Station West, LLC, the developer. “This is a very convenient neighborhood across from the Seatac Marriott Hotel, two blocks from the Sound Transit’s Airport Station and the future City Center.”
