Members definitely needed their sunscreen this year as they teed off for the 2009 ABC Golf Extravaganza at The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie in Lacey.
This year’s event was a tremendous success, and it is due to the support of the ABC membership, raising $2,251 for ABC of Western Washington’s community service partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho and Washington. Other proceeds go toward ABC’s many activities supporting the construction industry: management and supervisory education, safety training, legislative representation in Olympia, legal assistance, networking and improving all member services.
The winners of this year’s tournament were Justin Stewart, Gene Questad, Dan Caufman (Synergy Construction, Inc.), and Lobsang Dargey (Dargey Enterprises).
Second place was a tie between Scott Hanson, Ben Powell, Terry Vanderstoep (Lockett Construction, Inc.) and Steve Klimek (Redhawk Group, LLC) tieing Brian O’Neil (Bacic Group, LLC), Ben Belur (Capital Benefit Services, Inc.) Scott Mangold and John Moeller (N C Machinery). Men’s closest to the pin was won by Todd Smith (Nuprecon, LP); women’s closest to was won by Dawn Lanz (McMullen Electric, Inc.); women’s accuracy was won by Patty Sargeant (United Systems Mechanical, LLC); and men’s accuracy was taken by Justin Stewart (Synergy Construction, Inc.).
The planning of this year’s event was undertaken by the ABC Golf Committee led by Chair Ken Hill (KM Electric, Inc.) and included: Ben Belur (Capital Benefit Services, Inc.), Brian O’Neil (Bacic Group, LLC), Eldon Carlson (Merrill Carlson & Co., PLLC), Tim Carpenter (VanWell Masonry), Aaron Lindstrom (Enterprise Fleet Management), Mac McIntosh (Degginger McIntosh & Associates, Inc.), Jason Webb (Bell-Anderson Agency, Inc.) and Todd Cepek (Nuprecon, LP). The success of the tournament was a direct result of their dedication to ABC and their fellow members.
