ASK AN ABC MEMBER PROFESSIONAL: BRIAN MEAD (08/15/2009)

Problem:

Have your clients ever experienced the premature failure of a fan, pump, compressor, or chiller and wondered if there was a method to check this machinery during the commissioning of the building?

Solution:

If so, there are several “predictive” technologies that can be applied for the commissioning of rotating machinery. You can hire a firm to perform a machinery vibration analysis survey on the rotating machinery. This will identify any machine deficiencies that may result in untimely machine failure.
