SME SUPERINTENDENT NAMED AS FINALIST FOR CRAFT PROFESSIONAL AWARD (02/01/2009)
Chesley Stevenson, a superintendent for SME Inc. of Seattle, has been named as a finalist for the 2009 Craft Professional of the Year. Chesley was recognized as the top electrician craft professional. Other finalists presented boilermakers, carpenters, crane operators, pipefitting and welding.
Criteria considered by the six judges are: mastery of job skills, jobsite and safety performance, leadership, professionalism, community and industry service, personal motivation, credentials, commitment to the merit shop philosophy and recognitions by others for the candidate’s excellence in skills and teamwork to complete projects successfully and safely.
The top craft professional will be announced at the February 28th awards breakfast during the ABC National Convention in Honolulu. The winner receives a new full-size pickup sponsored by Tradesmen International.
