ABC’s 25th Annual “Luau” Dinner Auction went off without a hitch! The aloha spirit took over the Doubletree Hotel Seattle Airport with Hawaiian music filling the air, guests dressed in their best luau outfits and colorful flowered leis everywhere you looked.
This fun-filled night started off with a private complimentary Mai Tai reception (courtesy of the event sponsor
Employer Resources Northwest) where Molokai patrons were able to pre-bid on all silent items and were treated to Mai Tais and island-themed hors d’ouvres. The night flew by with three silent auctions and a very entertaining live auction presented by
Troy McVicker and
Tiger Budbill of
Event Source Northwest. Guests were dancing in their seats when the Tahitian dancing and drumming began by Rainbow of Hawaii. The audience erupted with laughter at the great attempts of
Justin Stewart with
Synergy Construction, Inc. and
Don Koslowky with
Bird Construction (USA) Inc. trying to dance Tahitian style with the professionals!
The night was a success raising $13,600 for our community partner, The
Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho & Washington. We appreciate your support in helping us make three children’s wishes come true! ABC’s special guests Laura and Debbie from a “wish family” attended, and Laura showed a lot of poise at 16 as she shared her incredible story of her wish coming true by going to Hawaii and pursuing her passion for photography.
ABC wants to say “mahalo” to everyone who donated, sponsored or participated, making this great event possible. We especially want to give a big thanks to our Auction Committee who worked very hard to make this evening as exciting and fun as it was. Led by Chair
Candi Pfluger of
Clothier & Head, PS, the committee also included
Anthony Christoffersen of
Tradesmen International,
Lynnae Cullinane with
Enterprise Fleet Management,
Amy Byrum, and
Cliff Rudolph of
Parker|Smith|Feek. This committee really knows how throw a luau!
If you thought this luau was a good time, mark your calendars for November 7, 2009 for an even bigger and better auction! If you would like to be part of the Auction Committee to help plan this great event, please contact
