This year 237 ABC of Western Washington (ABC/WW) members submitted Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) forms representing a 68% return. This includes 11 platinum, 141 gold, 66 silver and 19 bronze recipients.
Companies wishing to submit for the platinum level must have a total point count of 125 and up and have earned either gold or platinum the prior year. They must also meet or exceed the loss ratio for their NACIS code, submit a copy of their OSHA 300A form and have their insurer sign a support statement. The 11 ABC/WW companies who have met all this criteria for 2009 are: Adept Mechanical Services, Inc., CHG Building Systems, Inc., Electromatic Refrigeration, LLC., Marpac Construction, LLC, McMullen Electric, Inc., Remco - Deacon, Inc., S.D. Deacon Corp. of Washington, Saybr Contractors, Inc., S.M.E., Inc. of Seattle, SEA CON, LLC, and Synergy Construction, Inc.
STEP was created in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety Committee to recognize ABC member companies with exceptional safety records. STEP provides a company with an organized approach to analyze and further develop their safety and loss prevention program; provides a valid, objective method to measure safety program improvements; and provides your company with safety performance recognition that can be used as an important business development tool with clients.
