Normally a minority of ABC contractor members do public works projects. But there is nothing normal about these times. ABC members are increasingly looking to where the money is, which is in government-funded projects. To help members gain a better understanding of whether this work is something they want to bid on, ABC is hosting three events:
The October 28th dinner meeting in Tukwila, “Is Public Work an Option for You?” will be an overview of what is involved in public works, how it differs from private work and help you begin to answer whether bidding on public works projects is a good idea for your company or not.
If you feel that you are interested but need even more information, there is a “Are You Ready for Public Works” class on November 12th from 1-5 pm at ABC. This will help you assess if your company is ready to be successful in the public arena.
If you think your company could take on this work, then attend the next session on “Preparing your Firm to Bid on Public Works,” set for December 3rd from 1-5 pm at ABC. Representatives from various public agencies will be on hand to provide specific information on their agencies’ projects and requirements. (You must attend the November 12th class to be eligible to take the December 3rd class.)
All sessions are by Dan Seydel and Karen Primeau of Platinum Group, LLC, ABC members with vast experience in helping contractors win and perform public works contracts. To register or for more information contact Amy Gegoux at (800) 640-7789.
