Document, Document, Document: Employers’ FMLA Notice and Recordkeeping Requirements.

Employers covered by the Family Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) have a number of legal obligations to post and keep various records.  They also have various obligations to timely provide certain notices to an employee who requests leave under the law.  Given the civil penalties that can be imposed and the possible exposure to claims of discrimination if these obligations are not met, it is imperative that employers understand and comply with the same.
