The city of Lakewood on June 16 is sponsoring its first-ever military contracting workshop for vendors and contractors wishing to do business with Joint Base Lewis-McChord. “With $2 billion in construction work scheduled to be done at JBLM during the next four years, it is essential for local businesses to know how to identify and bid for these projects,” said Lakewood economic development manager Ellie Chambers-Grady in a statement.
The free workshop is designed for those interested in learning the basics of federal contracting, and those wishing to improve their success rates.
Workshop presenters include Scott Harm of Belay Architecture, Stan Uhlig of Federal Construction Consultants, and Patricia Homs and Brent Meisner of the Wabana Group.
The workshop will be held 9 a.m.-noon at the City Council Chambers. Preregister by calling (253) 284-5702.
