By Sean B. Anderson, Prevailing Wage Analyst, Department of Labor and Industries
This is a reminder that the Department of Labor & Industries will be upgrading the Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits (PWIA) system the evening of March 1, 2011. A few weeks ago we released a webpage where you can preview the new system and can provide feedback about the changes. Here is a link to the preview webpage:

We received a number of excellent questions regarding the changes and have begun another webpage where these questions and their answers can be found. Click the link below to be taken to that page now:

One significant change in the new system is that Prime Contractors (Prime) will need to file, and have approved, their Statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages (Intent) BEFORE any sub-contractors can file their Intent for the same project. (Primes need to file their Intent first.)
To ensure that all companies involved in a project can file and have their Intents approved, it is critical that Primes provide the project information and approved Intent ID number, to all subcontractors.
