The Western Washington Chapter of ABC has received the “Gold” level Grassroots Award, the highest level awarded. Western Washington is one of only three chapters to receive that designation.
“This award is truly a reflection of our members’ dedication to the Merit Shop and political change for the better, both at the state and national level,” said Vice President of Government Affairs Aran Buchan. “Our collective voice is being heard in Olympia and Washington D.C.”
The Grassroots Chapter Recognition program recognizes ABC chapters at one of three levels – Bronze, Silver or Gold – for outstanding grassroots performance. It also provides a self-evaluation tool to help chapters continue to improve their grassroots activities.
The Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of achievement are based on a point system for actions and policies the chapter has in place. Performance is measured through a chapter self-evaluation similar to the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation (STEP) program.
Because of the high grassroots achievement, the Western Washington Chapter will receive recognition at the Legislative Conference as a Gold Grassroots Chapter, recognition in ABC National’s weekly Newsline e-newsletter, a mention during Legislative conference through publications and display, a certificate as a Gold Grassroots Chapter and a special designation banner as a Gold Grassroots Chapter for the chapter website.
