As the weather warms, unions’ thoughts turn to organizing—both top-down and bottom-up.  At this seminar, ABC of Western Washington Chapter’s Labor Counsel, Judd Lees, will discuss the difference between the two and the lawful and appropriate employer responses to both. Included will be a discussion of the “ambush election rules” (which President Trump may or may not disturb), employer free speech rights, effective year-round campaigning, and what good faith bargaining entails. The seminar will also cover potential resources for reference materials about the union you suspect may “come knocking.” “Be prepared” is not just a Boy Scout motto—it’s critical to avoid unpleasant union organizing surprises.
