Certified Payroll
As you may know, the State Legislature passed a law on January 1, 2020 that requires contractors on public works projects to file certified payroll online with the Department of Labor and Industries (LNI), at least once a month. To provide the industry a grace period, LNI did not enforce this law but recently shared a list with ABC of over 6,000 contractors that have not filed the proper paperwork. Contractors can be penalized for failing to file, and enforcement is looming.

Filing Fee Changes also Coming Soon
Beginning Oct. 29, 2022, the filing fees for the Statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wage (“Intent”), Affidavit of Paid Wages (“Affidavit”), and the Limited Public Works Combined Intent/Affidavit form for projects from $2,501 to $50,000 will double.

Join Jason Sperfslage and Jennie Bryson from Beneco on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the ABC Bellevue office or virtually to review Washington State Public Works project requirements. Topics include:

  • Prevailing Wage payment requirement
  • Requirements to bid
  • Identifying the required Prevailing Wage rates to pay employees
  • Documentation and monthly reporting
  • The Affidavit of Wages Paid

This presentation will be recorded and available in the ABC On-Demand Resources site.
