Do you know the regulatory exposure limits and requirements to prevent worker exposure to silica? In this presentation you will learn the history and background of this workplace hazard, the proper use of engineering controls, and personal protective equipment. Highlights of the seminar include recognition of potential hazardous materials, minimizing hazards to workers, and symptoms of silicosis.  The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) is an international system adopted by the United Nations which provides an effective, standardized means of communicating hazard information worldwide. Employers need to train their employees on the labeling elements and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) format. This class will cover employer responsibilities, how to minimize workplace hazards, written program requirements and guidelines for compliance.
